The Piazza del Popolo is one of Rome's most famous landmarks. It is a large oval piazza located at the intersection of four main roads.
An Egyptian obelisk stands right at its center. Twin churches and a historic city gate also graces this Roman piazza. Porta del Popolo, the city gate, was built in the 16th century.

Piazza del Popolo is situated at the base of Pincio Hill.
Visitors can climb the stairs up Pincio Hill to enjoy a fabulous view of the square and much of Rome. Villa Borghese Park is at the top of the hill.
