Cathedral of St. Peter - San Pietro

The Cathedral of St. Peter (San Pietro) is the largest and most famous Roman Catholic church in the world.  Many great architects and artists made contributions to this beautiful Renaissance and Baroque building.  They include Bramante, Michelangelo, Raphael and others.  Construction occurred over a period of years in the 15th, 16th  and 17th centuries.  The original church that was located on this site was erected by Emperor Constantine in 319 AD.
